Bolivia, Venezuela for Gas Industrialization |
La
Paz, (Prensa Latina) Experts
from Bolivia and Venezuela
are to meet Wednesday to
analyze the construction of
a plant to separate liquid
components from natural gas
in the Tarija region of
Chaco, bordering Argentina.
Bolivia's President Evo
Morales said this statement
Tuesday during an almost
six-hour speech from the
Kausachum Coca community
radio station, in the region
of Chapare, Cochabamba.
Morales stated that
representatives from the
hydrocarbon ministry and the
state-run Bolivian Tax Oil
Fields (YPFB) will attend
the meeting. The statesman
also said that his
government bets on the
industrialization of
hydrocarbons, especially
aimed to the petrochemical
sector in projects of a
great importance.
Bolivia and Venezuela
created last year the joint
company Petroandina to
explore and exploit new oil
wells in the South American
country's eastern region and
the central department of
Cochabamba.
According to the project,
the company, formed by YPFB
and Petroleos de Venezuela
S.A., will invest about $600
million USD in the search
for hydrocarbons.
The new company will also
use greater energy
potentials of unexplored
zones in La Paz's northern
territory, to generate a
considerable progress for
the region and increase
employment rates.
Petroandina is part of the
integration model boosted by
the Bolivarian Alternative
for the Peoples of Our
America and the Peoples'
Trade Agreement,
prioritizing principles of
complementarity and
unconditional cooperation. |
