Bolivia Opens Works for Bolivarian Games |

Bolivia, Nov 4 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo
Morales will open in this capital on Wednesday three
facilities for the 16th Sucre 2009 Bolivarian Sports
Games.
According to the event's organizing committee, the
infrastructures are according to international
regulations, and equipped with the necessary means for
the athletes.
There will be an Olympic swimming pool and a sports
center, which are works promised by the government for
the regional games.
The first of those facilities, the cost of which exceeds
35 million bolivianos (around $5 million), has a
metallic roof, similar to those used in structures of
the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in China.
It also ha s a heating system and airing, natural gas
supply, and a 16-camera closed-circuit television.
The sports center's cost exceeded 25 million bolivianos
(around $3,5 million) and is composed of two Colosseums,
one devoted to contact sports and the other to artistic
gymnastics.
The sports center, the estimated cost of which exceeds
71 million bolivianos (around $10.1 million), has
cutting-edge technology synthetic rubber floor,
elevator, a 68-camera close-circuit television, and
other equipment.
Those sports infrastructures have been considered the
largest and modernest in Bolivia and South America.
Sucre was chosen as the 2009 Bolivarian Games' venue, on
the year of its 200th anniversary, something that will
allow fostering sports and social life in the Bolivian
historic capital.
The Bolivarian Games are held every four years to honor
the Liberator Simon Bolivar, and the participants are
athletes from the countries that reached their
independence thanks to his struggle. |
