USA Responsible for Cuban Suffering |
Havana, Oct 23 (Prensa Latina) President of the Cuban
Parliament Ricardo Alarcon blamed on Friday the US
government for the suffering of three generations of
Cuban youngsters victims of the US blockade he described
as genocide.
The children and youngsters are the main target of a
policy that "in its premeditated conception and
application as genocide has had a monstruous success,"
Alarcon denounced.
"From its very conception, the blockade has had the
deliberate purpose of making the people suffer to force
them to give up their dreams, their gains and their
rights," he explained.
Alarcon made his accusation in a youth demonstration
against the US blockade, imposed on Cuba for nearly half
a century in spite of sustained international rejection.
Cuba's Young Communist League issued a declaration
urging US President Barack Obama to keep his promise of
change by lifting the blockade.
The text also refers to the Cuban people's resilience
and their will to win and persist in their struggle for
an increasingly humane, socialist and fair society full
of solidarity and for a better world. |
