Montevideo, Jun 8 - With the intention of strengthening
bilateral relations, Uruguay and Cuba will hold Monday
the 4th round of Political Consultations and the 4th
Meeting of the Joint Commission for Economic,
Industrial, and Scientific-technical Cooperation.
The events, part of the annual inter-foreign ministerial
meetings held since diplomatic ties were re-established
in March 2005, will analyze progress achieved in the
last four years, and explore new cooperation prospects.
The Cuban side will be headed by Deputy Foreign
Ministers Alejandro Gonzalez and Orlando Requeijo.
The last four years have registered a sustained growth
in bilateral commercial exchange, health, education,
social development, and technical cooperation, Cuban
ambassador in Uruguay Marielena Ruiz Capote told Prensa
Latina.
The diplomat added affairs of mutual, regional, and
multilateral political interest will be discussed as
well.
In addition, a a joint publication on Cuban National
Hero Jose Marti will be launched. |
